Why Declare a B.A. Major in EES?

Lots of good reasons! You might be intrigued by some aspect of EES, but have law or medicine or business as a career goal. Maybe you want to be a scientist, but your blend of interests doesn't quite match our B.S. program. You might find that work, athletics, or a double major make an EES B.S. just a little too hard to fit into your life. Or maybe you're just interested in the science of the environment as a cool, interesting liberal-arts degree. In all these cases, declaring an EES B.A. might the answer.

Our B.A. is flexible, simple, and gives you plenty of chances for field work if that's to your liking. A basic program leaves plenty of room for double-majoring, building career credentials, or exploring the wealth of offerings available here at Lehigh. On the other hand, by working with your advisor and keeping an eye on our B.S. requirements, you can build a rigorous B.A. that will get you into grad school and beyond.

I'm Convinced! How Do I Declare?

Just stop by the EES Department in 101 Williams Hall (street level, on Linderman Library side of the building). Nancy Roman or Laura Cambiotti will give you a major-declaration form and arrange an initial meeting with your advisor.

Advisor? Can't I Just Save Time and Get My PIN?

Well, no, you can't! EES is known for its friendly, accessible faculty and staff, and its comfortable atmosphere: we want you to think of Williams Hall as home. What's more, we offer a variety of special programs and opportunities, and we can help you find your way though the curriculum so that you can get the most out of your degree. For all that to happen, you need to meet and get to know your advisor. You can only do that if you come on over to Williams.
